About me

Milo Sakač was born in 1963 in Čakovec, Croatia. He attended school in Lendava and Maribor and graduated from the Faculty of Architecture at the University of Zagreb in 1988. He works as an architect while pursuing a parallel career as a visual artist.

During 2017 and 2018, he established his studio in Vienna, where he has continued his artistic practice since the autumn of 2019. During the summer months, he works in his studio and gallery in Omiš.

He is a member of Q202 Leopoldstadt Wien, Produzentengalerie Wien, and Hungarian Visual Artists Worldwide and HDLU Varaždin.

This year marks the 35th anniversary of his first solo exhibition.

Painting techniques: watercolour, acrylic, mixed media, Indian ink, charcoal, collage, and other techniques.

1988.

2015.
Group exhibition as part of the project “My Favorite Place, R20”, Vienna.

2016.
Establishment of the summer garden studio and art gallery in Omiš.

2017.
January – Solo exhibition “Svitla nami triba” at the Zagreb City Libraries, Podsused.
May – Became a member of Produzentengalerie Wien.
July – Group exhibition “Hidden Inspiration” at Produzentengalerie Wien.
October – Established a studio in Vienna.
November – Solo exhibition “Mind Open – Title Missing” at Produzentengalerie Wien.
November – Solo exhibition “Near the Sea” at ARTSHIFT Gallery, Split.

2018.
March – Group exhibition “Die wundersame Welt der Produzentengalerie Wien”.
April – Became a member of the Q202 Leopoldstadt group.
May – Participated in Atelier Rundgang in Vienna as part of the Q202 project.
September – The “Brioni” series was featured in the filming of the Netflix series Novine 2.
November – Group exhibition “Boranka” – Karbon Project, Botaničar Gallery, Zagreb.

2019.
January – Initiated the project under the working title ‘Mind hunter’.
March – Solo exhibition at Art Room Gallery, Vienna.
April – Participated in Atelier Rundgang in Vienna as part of the Q202 project.
October – Solo exhibition at Družina Gallery, Ljubljana.

2020.
April – Major solo exhibition in Zagreb at the Mimara Museum Studio.
April – Participated in Atelier Rundgang and the accompanying exhibition in Vienna as part of the Q202 project.
Guest artist in Fuzhou, Fujian Province, China (three-month residency).

2021.
March / April – Exhibition “I Can Hear, Just Not Clearly” at the Čakovec Centre for Culture.
